Low Carbon Steel
Low-carbon steel, also known as plain-carbon steel, mild steel, or commercial steel, contains a small percentage of carbon ranging from 0.05–0.25%. It is the most common form of steel because its price is relatively low while it provides material properties that are acceptable for many uses. Low carbon steel can be produced either as hot rolled or cold rolled, with hot rolled being the more cost affordable option since it needs little processing beyond pickling.
