S420

S420 is a high-strength structural steel known for its balance of strength, ductility, and weldability. With a minimum yield strength of 420 MPa (60,900 psi), it provides dependable performance across a wide range of fabrication and construction applications. Available in plate, coil, sheet, and strip form, its versatility makes it a trusted choice for both structural frameworks and heavy-duty equipment where strength and workability must align.

Grades Designations

S420 is manufactured according to the EN 10025-3 specification for normalized or normalized rolled weldable fine grain structural steels. Its composition includes low carbon content with controlled additions of manganese, silicon, and micro-alloying elements such as niobium, titanium, and vanadium to refine grain structure and improve toughness.

S420 Characteristics

Property
