Pickled Steel Plate & Coil
Steel Warehouse owns and operates three pickling lines, so we can determine our own schedule, capacity, and quality to better serve our customers. We are the only company in the world that can continuous pickle up to 1” thick coil and up to 2” plate.
What is Steel Pickling?
Pickling is used to remove iron oxides (or scale) from the surface of steel. The process involves immersing the steel in a controlled acidic solution, with factors such as acid concentration, temperature, and immersion rates adjusted based on the material being processed and mill source. Removing surface scale helps prepare the steel for downstream operations such as painting, coating, cutting, and other fabrication processes.
