130 ksi Steel

130 ksi steel belongs to the Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) category, designed to deliver tensile strengths around 130,000 ksi (900 MPa). These steels are formulated for applications where weight reduction, structural efficiency, and fatigue resistance are critical.

130 ksi (900 MPa) steel is produced in both plate and strip forms, each serving different production needs. Plate is typically quenched and tempered to develop full through-thickness strength and impact resistance. Strip is cold reduced and heat treated to achieve uniform mechanical properties and tight thickness tolerances for precision forming.

Advantages

130 ksi Steel Plate

130 ksi plate is produced through controlled quench and temper processing to achieve uniform mechanical properties through thickness. This process ensures high yield strength and dimensional stability during thermal cutting and forming.

Steel Warehouse produces a 130 ksi plate product called SWQT. Produced from hot-rolled coil up to 1″ thick, SWQT combines strength, toughness, and consistent flatness for demanding applications.

130 ksi Steel Strip

130 ksi strip is a cold-rolled, heat-treated UHSS product engineered for lightweighting opportunities without sacrificing formability performance. The material undergoes controlled cold reduction and heat treatment to ensure consistent microstructure and mechanical properties.

Steel Warehouse produces a 130 ksi strip product called DURELAST™. This CRS is used in stamped, roll formed, tubing, and bent profiles that require reduced springback and tight gauge control.
