European Norm Standards
European Standards (abbreviated ENs owing to the more literal translation from French/German as European Norms) are technical standards drafted and maintained by CEN (European Committee for Standardization), CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) and ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). EN standards cover carbon steels, high-strength structural steels, weathering steels, and alloy steels, and include both chemical composition and mechanical property requirements. EN grades are widely recognized internationally and often used interchangeably with ASTM or SAE equivalents in global manufacturing and fabrication.
